pretty shoes and preparing for pics

Tomorrow morning we are having pics taken. We are getting our family pic, Lilli's pics, and Caden's 2 year pics. I am hoping since we are going at 10:30 that Caden will be in good spirits. Cross your fingers for me! It was really hard trying to find something for Lilli to wear. We decided that we are going to all wear black, red, and white. Did I mention that Grammie is going to be in some of the pics, too? Well, she is. She wasn't too happy about that when I first told her, but I think she is okay with it now. I will put pics on the blog as soon as we have them of course. I will also do my best to actually mail pics out to everyone who wants one. If you are included in that group of people who would like one, make sure to tell me.

I think I am going to get a pic with her wearing these little shoes that Grammie got her. Check out these cutie shoes:

Here is Caden munching on some gummies in the shape of eggs. Yum...

I will let you know tomorrow how the pics go. I will leave you with a pic of a piece of art I made for the wall today. I had a spot I needed to fill, and I was able to throw this together while Caden was napping without buying anything. I especially like the jewels!

Messy Eater and the Elusive Smile

Gram, Lilli, and I did quite a bit of shopping in Appleton today. I got pretty much everything that I needed, too. I wanted to get some new art for the living room, and I found a couple pieces at the TJ Maxx Home Goods store. That is definitely one of my favorite stores for...anything. I love their home goods (of course), but I also LOVE the selection of books that they have. I also found a really cute wooden Mickey Mouse Clubhouse jigsaw puzzle. I may like it better than Caden does!
Speaking of Caden, here is what he looked like while he was eating pudding tonight. He was a little messy to say the least:

He was in a pretty goofy mood. He felt that he needed to sit in the bouncy chair while Lilli was with Grammie. He thought he was very funny.

Lilli was pretty smiley tonight. Unfortunately every time I got the camera she would stop. Here is Gram trying to make her smile:

This is the closest I got to a shot of the smile:

I will keep trying!

New trees and my little photographer

This morning the furniture was picked up from the garage to get donated (finally). Now Ryan will be able to arrange his tool workshop area in the third stall of the garage. Don't worry...we will put a heater out there for him in the winter.

We also had our two trees planted. It is amazing how much a little tree adds! I got the Fall decorations put up both inside and outside. I will post pics of that tomorrow.

I also want to post of couple pics from last night that I didn't get a chance to post. Caden L.O.V.E.S. all things gadgety. This includes our digital camera. I have decided to finally stop fighting with him about not playing with it, and just show him how to use it. Let's hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the... you know. Here are a couple pics that he took, with a little assistance of course:

He is turning into a regular little photographer.

Beautiful Weather

It was another G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. day today. We took advantage of the weather and took both of the kiddos for a stroll in the cool stroller that Danny and Sam got for us. Grammie and I took turns pushing the kids:

Other than the walk we were homebodies for the day. Caden was pretty happy that Grandma came to visit him this morning. Can you tell?

I also had Lilli on her stomach on my legs tonight to burp her. She really likes being on her tummy. The next thing I knew Caden was there looking at her foot that was missing the sock and saying "piggy." We ended up going through all of the piggies before we put the sock back on.

Tomorrow Caden has gymnastics in the morning and then is spending the day with Grandma. I plan to get a few things done around the house. This includes putting up my Fall and Halloween decorations. I also want to work on one more craft (for now) for Halloween. I will also post pics later this week of how the table lamp turned out. I still need to finish the lamp shade.

One month old

It is hard to believe that Lilli is already one month old. We are so lucky. Not only is she healthy and adorable, she is also a very good baby. She sleeps great, and she is generally really happy unless she is hungry or needs her diaper changed. Her is a picture of her at one month old:

It was so nice outside today. Caden took advantage of the weather and went outside and picked raspberries with Grammie. He also had fun blowing some bubbles. I hope next week's weather will still be as nice!

Octoberfest was today in Appleton. I love going to look at the crafts. Gram, Caden, Danny, Sam, and I went to check it out. Lilli spent a few hours with her "Aunt" Chris. It was pretty breezy and chilly when we left, so we thought it may be a little too cool for her. The weather actually turned out to be perfect.

For lunch Caden and I had a Godog. It is a hot dog in a bun that is closed in the bottom. So if you get ketchup on it, it doesn't leak. Caden ate all of his hot dog except for one bite. He probably also ate around 1/3 of the bun:

I got some really cute crafts while I was there. I kept telling myself that I could make all of it, but then I reminded myself that I don't have the time to make everything I like.

We only stayed for a few hours, but we had a nice time.

When we got back to pick up Lilli she was doing very well. Here she is hanging out with Aunt Chris:

We also got a surprise tonight when Daddy decided to come home a day early! Yay! Since Caden has been asking for him non-stop pretty much, it was a VERY nice surprise. He got home right after Caden got done with his bath:

Much more accomplished!

Today was another pretty good day as far as getting things accomplished is concerned. I got the birth announcements printed last night, so I addressed them all and sent them out today. I scheduled a landscaper to come and plant two trees in our yard (one in the front and one in the back) for next Tuesday morning. I picked up some items I needed at Target. I got some things going for our business. I know...I haven't really talked about that. I will in the future... Trust me, it's a great idea! Then the night was rounded out with some pizza from Pizza Hut (Grammie's favorite) and Shanghai cards.
I am just now getting ready to take a quick shower and then heading to bed.

Both kids were very good today.

Here is Lilli trying on one of the hats that Mindi sent for her:

Caden was especially funny today. When we ran to Target we walked in and he pointed to the Starbucks and said "juice." This is because last week I got him one of those organic apple juice boxes from there. The kid has an unbelievable memory. I told him he could have milk, and he was still pretty happy about that.

We met up with Alexis and when we were done Alexis asked if he wanted to go with her. We were both counting on him saying no and wanting to go with me. Instead, he said, "uh huh" to her and started to walk over to her. So Caden went with Alexis when she went to visit her dad in the hospital and then ran to her house. My little guy is growing up!

Here are some pics of Mommy playing with him tonight.

I will survive

Ryan left for Madison early this morning. So no help from Daddy tonight when he got home. Luckily Grammie is still here to help out. I am now confident that I will be okay when Grammie leaves and I will be alone with the little ones. I will definitely have my hands full...don't get me wrong...but I am confident that I will be able to handle it.

I got quite a bit done today. I schedule for St. Vincent De Paul to come next Tuesday morning to pick up the large furniture in our garage so Ryan can finally set up his workshop area. I called the groomer to get Sassy in sometime next week. I set up an appointment. I finally (so tacky) mailed my thank you cards. I had them written two weeks ago, but they have just been sitting there. I ordered the announcements. I also pulled the majority of our vegetable garden out. I left a tomato plant and two pepper plants. This was all accomplished while also playing with Caden or during his nap time.

Here are some shots from the day:

Lilli chilling in her bouncy chair. Check out the cute outfit from my friend Becki.

Here is Caden looking too cool wearing mommy's sunglasses and cruising in his car.

I love this pic! Caden is watching Mickey Mouse and is obviously pretty comfortable.

Scrapping Paradise!!!

I finally finished my scrapping area in the office in the basement!!! I am so excited. It took a couple more hours today, but I think it is to the point I can work. I still need to add pics to the frames on the wall. I will be doing that this week. Here are some pics:

Ryan leaves tomorrow morning for the Wisconsin Optometric Association's convention in Madison. He will be there until Sunday afternoon. Yikes! Luckily Grammie will still be here to help with the kiddos. We will be fine.

Lilli will be fine, too. I am sure she will be snuggled up in one of her favorite positions: Grammie's lap.

Eating Cereal and Deja Vu

This morning Caden decided he wanted to try eating cereal like a big boy. He did a very good job. Here are some shots:

He liked drinking the milk at the end the best I think. He even had Gram refill the milk for him.

After breakfast he went to gymnastics with Grandma and then spent the day with her. I used the time to work on organizing the office. I got very far. I will post a pic when it is finished. I can't wait!

I also got my hair cut and colored today. It is pretty sassy. Thank you Catie Graff at Tangles. If you are looking for a good cut or a new style, call Catie.

The rest of the day I worked on the office some more. I just got done pulling all of the maternity clothing out of my closet. Now I just need all of my non-pregnancy clothing to start fitting again.

Tonight I was holding Lilli and Ryan got this shot:

I think it looks a little like this shot of Caden from November of 2008.

What do you think?

Dinner time

It is pretty easy to see when Lilli is ready to eat. Here she is letting Daddy know it is dinner time:

Short post tonight. I'm pretty tired... Yawn...

I didn't realize until I was uploading today's photos from the camera that both pics of the kids from today are of their feet. Pretty funny.

The first pic is from this morning when I was doing my hair. Caden usually sits on our bed and either watches TV or plays on my computer. This is what I saw when I looked out of our bathroom:

He is so funny.

Lilli's pic of the day was from her bath. I thought her feet looked so cute and little:

She still wasn't too happy with the bath. No surprise there.

I got the other Halloween decoration completed today that I said I was going to work on. Here is how it turned out:

Ryan and I also worked on a table lamp. It was Grandma and Grandpa Ames' lamp. I decided it would look cute in Lilli's room if we spray painted the brass and I decoupaged the table top with scrap paper to match her room. Here are the before pics:

I am hoping to have it done next week, so look for those pics!

Have a nice night!
