Trying to be Productive

Since I don't have school the next two days, I am trying to get some things done around the house. I think I am doing okay so far. Caden slept in (Thank you, God!), so we didn't get a really early start. By the time he ate and I got him dressed, we didn't leave until around 10:30ish. We ran to the outlet mall to return a few things and then we hung out at Target for awhile. Ryan met us for lunch at Red Robin. I tried to get Caden out of his Mac and Cheese rut, so he got chicken tenders and fries. He liked it! I think he liked playing with the crayons even more. Here's a pic.

He was pretty tired by the end of lunch, so decided to come home so he could nap. That was almost three hours ago that I put him down, and he is still sleeping. So while he has been out I: threw dinner in the crockpot, have done almost three loads of laundy, put away two baskets of clean clothes from before, wrote all of Caden's thank yous, organized my Project 365 pics up to this week, and reorganized the towels in the laundry room! Yay me!

Tomorrow I hope to get some scrapbooking done while Caden is napping. In order to help me achieve this goal I plan to organize tonight everything that I plan to scrap tomorrow. Let's hope that works!

Happy Birthday Caden!

It has been a whirlwind the last couple weeks. My mom came to visit last week for Caden's birthday, and the rest of the time was devoted to prepping for the party. She got in on Wednesday night and stayed until Monday morning. I'll get to the details about the party in a minute.

Caden is walking better every day. He still takes a spill once in a while, but he is determined to walk as much as possible. He also a stair master now. He is able to crawl up and down them without a problem. He even is able to go from one flight to another. He knows that he needs to switch himself around and crawl down backwards. We still watch him like a hawk.

He loves it when he rides on Ryan's shoulders and then Ryan runs around the house. Danny does this with him, too. Here is a cute shot of Caden with Uncle Danny. He was pretty happy as you can see from the pic.

Here are some pics from Caden's birthday party. I think he had a pretty fun time. He now has enough toys to open his own toy store. This is why we turned Danny's bedroom into a toy room. Oh, if you didn't know he moved out. He is now living in the lower level of the duplex. It worked out well for both parties. I will have to take a pic of the room. It is great to have.

We also tried Caden's Halloween costume on him. He somewhat resembled a sausage in casing when I put him in it. I bought the Sock Monkey costume last Halloween after the holiday last year. I am out a whole $2. We did get a couple shots of him with Maddie. She is an adorable monkey. The two are too cute!

I will also be adding another slide show with other pics from the party.

Have a nice night!

A Promise is a Promise

I am making good on my word and adding some pics! Of course I have a bunch of the little cutie.

Today was a good day at school. I used a new activity that I learned about yesterday at a writing conference. The students seemed to really like it. I also learned some other great things that I will be trying to bring into the class as well. I'd tell you all about it, but I'm sure others would like to have the same enthusiasm that I have.

Here are some quick updates shown in pics!

We have started brushing Caden's teeth at night and in the morning. He loves it!

We also discovered that he likes shrimp! Who would have thunk it?

He is starting to kinda like bath time again. He's not quite loving it yet, but he's getting there.

Here is what Caden does when you say "No bites" to him. Ryan said it jokingly, but Caden didn't see the humor.

And I will leave you a picture of his bedtime routine. We always read a book before he goes to bed. Here we are reading his current favorite Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

I'm still alive!

No, I didn't die. It is amazing how hard it is to keep up with this blog once school is in session. Once again, I will try to do a better job.

Things have been pretty busy. I have been working on my portfolio for my National Board Certification. That is taking up quite a bit of time.

Last weekend we headed to Chippewa Falls to see some friends from Chicago. It was fun. We stayed at Jake and Kara's house on Friday night. Allan and Darbi were there with the kiddos, and Ryan and Julie Beloungy popped by as well. Good times. I will add some pics tomorrow. I am too tired to upload tonight. Sorry...

I have some other cute pics of Caden as well. He is just as active as ever. He has a nasty cold, so we are hoping that it is getting to the end. Poor little guy. I can't believe he will be 1 in less than two weeks! Time flies when you are having fun.

I'll check back in tomorrow!

Night!
