Weekend Recap

This past weekend was great! It was the scrapbooking weekend in Wisconsin Rapids. I got my main projects pretty much done. Lilli's Project Life has the pictures in it, but I still need to copy the daily journals onto the cards. I figure I will do that while watching TV with Ryan.

The second project I did was a mini-album for our last trip to Disney World. I wanted something for the kids to look at to remember the trip. Lilli is always asking me to "talk to" her about the trip. It's really cute.  Here are some pics:

The last project I did was a picture tray with some new pics. Originally I wanted it to take to school, but then I decided I may keep it at home. Ryan wanted to snag it for the Ripon office. Here is a pic of that:

I also made some birthday cards to keep on hand. I can never have enough of those.

Overall, it was a very productive and enjoyable weekend.

So far this week has been okay. I have been pretty busy with work, but good busy. Since the boards scores are going to be coming in this Saturday, I need the work to make the time pass. I am so nervous...

Last night was pretty rough. Lilli is obviously getting her 2 year molars, because she has been in some pain. She was up on and off all night (actually morning) from around 1:30 am on. Ryan and I were somewhat zombie-like this AM. I am planning to go to bed early tonight. :)

I will update more tomorrow...after I am more well-rested!

Have a nice night!

The importance of the blog

As I was preparing for a weekend of scrapbooking, I found myself going back and reading my blog posts back from when Lilli was born. There were certain things that made me laugh, and there was even a post that made me tear up a little bit. Looking at all of those pics really reminded me how quickly the time is going. It also showed me how really important it is for me to keep this blog going. Rereading those posts allowed me to relive some of those moments. I loved it. The entire time I have blogged (which I know has been sporadic) I have felt I was doing it for my family. Especially those of you who are out of state. What I realized is that is not the truth, or at least my mind has changed. I blog for myself. I want to be able to go back and read about the goofy things that we do. The good times and the bad times. It is nice at the time while I am writing it to get it out, but it is much nicer being able to go back and read it.

There are many things that have happened since I last update. Many... And there is no way I could possible update you in one blog post. What I will do is focus on our family pics that we had taken in September by one of my students, Allison. They are great. Here is the link to see the pics. Click on it and you be able to see the pics:

I love them all. We are going to be getting them printed, hopefully next week, and then I will send the pics out with my holiday cards.

Have a great day! I hope to update again tomorrow, but I may not have the Internet. We shall see :) The next update will be able Caden's 4th birthday and his superhero party. It was great!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Lilli!

Now that the summer is over, I guess it is time to start blogging again :) I know that it would make more sense to blog a lot during the summer, but I seemed to have even less time then. I chose to spend more time with the kiddos :) Good choice. I will update you periodically about our summer. It was a full time. It even included a trip to see Mickey Mouse again. Stay posted for that.

Today was Lilli's 2nd birthday! It is so hard to believe it has already been two years! Yesterday was her birthday party. It was a Princess and Knight party. I think everyone had a great time. Here are some of the highlights:

William (my nephew- Cara and Jordon's second child) showing off his knightliness :)
No comment is really necessary :)
We always have plenty of food :)

The kids enjoyed it. Notice their crown shaped turkey and cheese sandwiches.
They especially loved the marshmallows dipped in white chocolate tinted pink.

The Princess cake
Checking out her new princess doll.

She wanted to wear her new princess dress right away.
She even wore the tiara long enough for a quick pic!
She loved her cake.

Blowing out the candles.

Lilli and her knights
It's impossible to get them all smiling at the same time :)
A HUGE thank you goes out to Andrew and Nicole Josephs for allowing us to borrow their bounce house. It was a big favorite of the kids.

We didn't go too overboard for the decorations. I made a banner with my Cricut, but my favorite thing was the Ryan turned the swing set clubhouse (as Caden calls it) into a castle. It turned out great.

Caden helped Dadda paint the castle.
The knights and the castle

Princess Lilli loved the castle as well.
Princess Lilli had a great day.

Since today was her actual birthday, we wanted to do something special as well. That is why we decided to surprise the kids and take them to Chuck E Cheese. They were thrilled. Uncle Danny, Aunt Samantha, Aunt Lexie, Grandma, and Bumpah went, too. It was a fun time, plus the pizza isn't too bad either :)

Riding the roller coaster ride with Caden

Riding an animal noise making ride
Doing some shooting with Aunt Lexie
My girl is always up for some cake!
Uncle Danny and Dadda also sacrificed and played games to win tickets for the kids.

We also ran a couple errands after playing. We stopped at DSW so Ryan could find some shoes. Lilli came running up to me holding a shoe saying, "Shoe for Lilli." Here is what she was showing me:

We are in for trouble with this one... :)

Things pile up

Have you ever noticed that when you need to do something, and you put it off for a little bit, it all seems to pile up? As a teacher, this can easily happen with work that needs to be graded, or laundry that needs to be washed, or thank yous that need to be written... Once you put it off for a little bit, it gets to the point where you almost feel like it's hopeless and you just should give up. I always think that that is the way people must feel who live in those homes featured on the hoarding shows. Their houses simply get to the point where they just don't even know where to begin. Well, that is kinda how I have been feeling with the blog. My life got a little hectic there for awhile, and I kept pushing the blog updates to "tomorrow." The days kept passing, and the blog kept not getting updated. I have felt really guilty. I know that this is how my family gets to see the kids. How you all get to know what is going on in our world. I guess ultimately like I was failing... Well, I wasn't. I was thinking a lot about it, and I realized I do A LOT, and that no one would blame me for getting behind on the blog. Most of my friends are amazed that I ever find time for the blog at all. So with ALL of that being said, I am back! I realized last night that I do not need to try to make up for lost time, all I need to do is simply move forward. Yes, I will catch you up on something that have happened over the last month, but I will not dwell on trying to give a day by day account. Whew! Just writing this much makes me feel so much better :)

Some of the things I will be highlighting over the next few posts are the dancing Ryan and I did, the Half Marathon, and of course just some unbelievably cute pics of the kids :) I always have a surplus of those.

So look for some more frequent updates to come. Some days may be very short updates, and some may only be a pic or a video, but there will be updates. I want to make sure that the family gets to keep witnessing the growth of the kiddos.

I will leave you with a video that I have from last week. Ryan was out of town for business from early Tuesday morning through Sunday afternoon (I was on tired mommy), so the kids and I sent him videos daily. Here is one that we sent to him:

Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow :)

I have been soooo behind with the blog. I know. I am over a week now. Look for a multiple post update tomorrow. There will be one post for each day. Most of them are all written, I just need to put in the pics. Sorry! Life has been too busy.

Happy Easter!!!

Yesterday we decided that we needed to dye some eggs, and Caden had a blast! I was especially thrilled when he wanted to eat them after. My kids love them some eggs!
Look at those skills.
Lilli colored the egg with the crayon before dyeing it.

Caden LOVED dipping the eggs.
Sometimes he checked the eggs too often :)
Adding some stickers after the egg was dyed.
Checking out their master pieces.
Our family eggs
Time to sample the eggs.
"This egg is soooo goooood..."
This morning started out with the kiddos checking out their baskets before we headed off to church. They were both pretty excited. Lilli was just as excited to see raisins in her Easter basket as candy. She busted open one of the boxes right away.

After church we came back and looked for the eggs that the Easter bunny hid around the house. The Easter bunny left them some quarters in the eggs. That was very smart of him since they each received a piggy bank in their baskets. Here are some pics:
Caden found his basket in the Cozy Coupe.
Lilli checks out her piggy bank while Caden shows her the raisins.
Lilli digs right in!
Caden finds a couple of the eggs before going to church.
We headed to Grandma and Bumpah's for lunch with the family. Caden was super excited to see Andrew, and he had an added bonus of getting to play with Adin, too. The kids were spoiled beyond belief with their baskets from Grandma and Bumpah, Aunt Cara and Uncle Jordon, and also Aunt Samantha and Uncle Danny. I don't think it would be possible for them to eat all of that candy in a year!
Caden checks out his goodies from Aunt Cara and Uncle Jordon while Andrew opens his.

Lilli found her basket that was hidden at Grandma and Bumpah.
Lilli loves the bunny and net from Aunt Cara and Uncle Jordon.
This was the first year we had an Easter egg hunt. The kids LOVED it!!!

Lilli did a pretty good job!
Here's a shot with both kids in action.
Caden was all over that yard looking for his blue eggs.
Lilli with her piggies blowing in the wind :)
I know she isn't smiling, but she still looks so pretty.
Caden checking out his loot.
He was pretty excited about the gummy carrot. This is about two seconds before he ate it :)
It was a very wonderful day. The weather was sunny and the kids had a great time.
