{and just like that...another month passes...}

To say I have been busy would be an incredible understatement. There are many time-consuming things going on in my life right now. Where to begin? Well, as I mentioned last time, Ryan and I found a new (for us) house that we love. We will be closing on that sometime in the next couple of months. As of right now the official closing date is June 12th, but we are going to see if we can move that up. Here is a pic of the front of it:
We love it for many reasons.

Because we are buying a new house, we need to sell ours. That means we need to constantly keep things "show ready." With a 4 1/2 year old and a 6 1/2 year old, that is very difficult at times. Here are the pics that our realtor had taken of our house. It shows very well. We have had a lot of interest and quite a few showings in the last three weeks, but we still haven't had any offers.

Ryan and I were gone this last weekend for my cousin Jill's wedding in the Florida Keys, Islamorada to be exact. It was just beautiful. I will post pics later of more, but here are just a few. (I know I say this all of the time...but I really will this time...I hope...)

We left Thursday afternoon and were back on Sunday. It was a quick trip, but it was very nice. Don't worry about Caden and Lilli, they were being spoiled by Grandma and Bumpah :) No shocker there, right?

I am currently starting a new project. It's called: Keeping Barby Sane :) I am a huge planner (as most of you know), but when I get overwhelmed I can easily let things go if I think they are not going to go as I would like them to. I am trying to get back into the groove with working out, balancing the house, keeping up with all of my obligations for school, and spending more quality time with the kiddos. Let's break it down:

  1. Home maintenance: The home front looks good at this point (other than the piles of laundry that are piled up from being gone). We also just hired a cleaning lady. I could tell my grandma was happy when I told her this. I know she worries about me doing "too much." I think when you are a working mom, the concept of "too much" just doesn't exist. I am also using Flylady.net to help with some baby steps to maintaining a clean, organized environment. That just makes everyone happier, right?
  2. Body maintenance: So I have the home thing covered (pretty much), but I still want to figure out (again) this whole working out thing. I have no answer at this point. I know the easiest fix is to simply wake up earlier to work out before I go to work. I just need to find the motivation (and energy) to start doing this again :)
  3. School obligations: Lesson planning takes more time than people think. And creating good lessons takes even longer than that! I need to start blocking out a solid hour to work on my school planning at home on Sundays. Now don't think that is all of the time I will need. I spend a lot of time at school doing this as well. My goal has always been to leave work at work whenever possible. I think my life during the week would be a little easier for me if I were to take this hour every Sunday to work on some items.
  4. Quality time with the kiddos: This is something to which I always want to contribute more. I am not saying that I am not spending enough time with Caden and Lilli, I am just saying I would like to start spending a little more quality time with them. I have invested to help with this by hiring a cleaning lady. Not having to take time to clean my toilets on the weekend is going to free up my time to spend even more time with the kids. I know also with the glorious weather returning, that will help as well. I am really doing my best to make sure that when I am with them...I am with them. I am not doing other things or worrying about a toy that really should have been put away before we moved on to the next activity. Yes, they will still pick up that toy, but it can mostly likely wait :)
That's quite a list, right? Seems simple that it is only 4 things, but they are 4 major things. Oh, did I also fail to mention that I would like to start an every other week Date Night with the hubby? Yep, you read that correctly. Not a once a month Date Night, an every other week. I think when we get so busy with everything going on, it is too easy for us to both make sure to keep the kids at the forefront, but push ourselves and time with each other to the back burner. Yes, we have the time after the kids go to bed, but let's face. Most days we are struggling to stay away ourselves :) So Ryan is also one of my priorities.

You know what? Writing all of this down actually made me feel better. When I look at this list, I know I can accomplish it all. That or I am a really optimistic person. Not sure!

Until later!
