{Project Life: Week 10 + surprise presents from Dada}

I'm doing better this week, because I'm only a day behind with last week's layout. Last week was great, because we were finally all healthy. Yay!!! Here is a peek:

I feel like I have more journaling this week than in the past weeks.

The second page was pretty photo heavy, but that is the way I like it. If you look at how I put together multiple pics, this page really has 14 pics on it. Again, that is why I LOVE Project Life. I think back to how many pages in a regular scrapbook that that would be. And truthfully, I probably would have a hard time finding the time to put those together.

The other highlight from today was that Dada did not meet with his group. The kids and I were then able to stop by the office on our way home from Tricia's. They couldn't want to see Dada. When we got into his office, there were some special items on one of the chairs. Two new lightsabers (We have looked EVERYWHERE, and we cannot find Caden's) and also a Baby Anna (from Frozen) doll. The kids were so excited. Check out those faces:

{Project Life: Weeks 8 & 9}

Let's start with two week's ago. I was a little behind with getting everything put together from when my back went out. I think the layouts turned out pretty well. Here's a peek:

Quite a few of the pics revolved around when Lilli started getting sick, because that was the majority of our weekend:

I love the extra pages for 4X6 pics. I included two pics from Chuck E Cheese of the kids. I put them in back to back. Super cute:

{Project Life: Week Seven}

Last week's layout was fun, because I was able to use some of my new birthday goodies to put it together. I received a ton of great stickers and other Project Life items. I couldn't wait to try them out. Here is last week's layout:

 I used Design Layout A for both pages this week:

I love this card I used as the week marking card. It was in one of the packs I got for my birthday. I squared the days that were covered last week, and I added the little sticker to the left side:

 

I decided to include the mini Valentine's Day cards I made for the kiddos. They fit very well in the pockets, and I just think Lilli's is so cute:

 As I said before, I used the same page set up for the right side:

Ryan was impressed that the kids' faces are different in each pic.

 This punch out was perfect to put on the pics I included of Caden playing with the garbage can:

Tonight the kids wanted to write on their dry erase boards they received from us as part of their Valentine's gifts. Caden made a sign for his door. It says: No Stranger. And he also wrote his name on it. He doesn't quite understand that letters in the same word need to stay next to each other :) If you look, you can see that the "er" from "stranger" is right next to his name. Makes it look like: Cadener:

Here is a sweet pic from tonight. Lilli wanted to write "Mama" on her dry erase board, so Caden was helping her by showing her how to make an M. What a helper:

{Happy Valentine's Day + Project Life: Week Six}

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everyone had a great day. Caden and Lilli were very lucky kiddos and got to spend the night with Grandma and Bumpah. Ryan and I ran over there after work to play with the kids for a little bit and give them their Valentine's goodies. I didn't want to give them to them this AM, because the mornings are always somewhat rushed. We don't need to add anything else in there. They were happy to get their bags

After we spent time with our babies, we headed out to dinner. We went to Gardina's tonight. We were daring and got mussels for dinner. I ate a couple of them. They really needed that yummy bread with them, but because I couldn't eat the bread, the mussel's texture wasn't doing it for me. The flavor was great, though:

I was not as organized with putting my layout for last week together as I have been in the past. I still managed to pull it together. Here are the layouts:

Design D fit well for the left side. Again, I cannot describe how much I LOVE picmonkey. It is awesome.

I love this sticker's message, so I decided to include it in the spread:

I just had to use it!

The right side I opted to go with Design A. As you can probably tell, Designs D and A are my default layouts :) Love them!

I included a nice section about the kids sleeping over at Grandma and Bumpah's house last week:

I love that I was able to mesh together four different pics for this one 4X6 slots. Doing this allows me to have so many pics in one one week layout:

{Project Life: Week Five + Happy Birthday, Dad}

Last week's layout included a lot of pics again. There were so many because of the two cold days off of school. That allowed for more fun family time! Here is a look--

I used Design G for the right hand page:

I like the way this page looks, but it doesn't allow for as many pics.

I used good old Design D for the left-hand side. I love this page. There is so much color. I even included a piece of a post-it for journaling in the bottom right corner.

Due to not having as much space on the right-side, I included this cutie pic of Caden on my date card:

The last thing I need to say is "Happy Birthday" to my father. The kids and I Skyped with Amma and Ampa after dinner. They had a great time withing him a happy birthday:

{Project Life: Week Four + Cold Day Two}

Last week's layout was fun, because I included an insert (for the first time!)to hold some extra pics. Because Ryan took the kids to the Fond du Lac Children's Museum on Friday, we ended up with quite a few pics. Take a look:

If you look at the first page, you can see that I included a screen shot of a text message I received from the director or Lilli's preschool. She was texting to tell me that Lilli is doing so much better socializing with her classmates. Previously, she was VERY shy in class. This text made me so happy, so I thought it needed to be included for the week.

 I like that including this allowed me to have room as well for the passports the kids stamped at the museum:

 Last week's layout really had a variety of pics, and I think it does an excellent job of capturing our busy lives from last week.

 

Today was Day Two of the cold. The kiddos and I didn't leave the house today. It was great :) Truthfully, we didn't do very much. Caden decided right away this morning that we would wear our pajamas all day. I made it until 10, and then I HAD to put some jeans on. We snuggled, watched movies, and played around the house. I crocheted while we were watching the movies. I made each kiddo a hat per Caden's request:

 

I have a flower that I also crocheted and need to add to the side of Lilli's hat. I'll post another pic after I do that. They LOVED them.

Another thing we did today was make Banana Swirl. That is what Daniel Tiger made on an episode of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. It is just frozen bananas that are blended. It tastes like banana ice cream. We started with three bananas:

 

Then I sliced them up:

 

And Lilli put them in a Ziplock bag:

It was so cold today that we put the bag outside instead of in the freezer. When we decided to blend up the bananas after lunch, they were too hard to even blend. I took out about six pieces and put them in the microwave to soften them up a bit. The kiddos were VERY excited:

 

It takes a little bit of time, and you need to keep stopping to shake the blender. Once it started to smooth together, it was fine. Here is what it looks like:

Both Caden and Lilli thought it was very good:

 

I liked it, too.

Overall, it was a very nice and relaxing day. Back to normal tomorrow!

{Project Life: Week Three + Caden's injury}

This week's layout I used the Design A sheet for the first page, and the Design D for the second page. I like that I moved beyond just the Design A format.

I like the 4X6 of Ryan and Caden playing checkers cut to fit into two different 3X4 slots.

One thing I've found that has been making this project much easier for me is Picmonkey, which is a free online photo editing site. It is so nice being able to quickly add text to my pics. I also am able to crop my photos and create a digital canvas to resize the photos to work for whatever size I may want. We do have Photoshop at home, but it is only on Ryan's computer. Here is a close up of one of the pics I did with Picmonkey:

I also used that app Picframe for this that I mentioned in a previous post. I LOVE this app!

I will leave you with some pics from last night. Caden is obsessed with riding his bike in the house. I know we probably shouldn't let him, but with Wisconsin winters, he wouldn't be able to ride outside for a long time. Plus, remember that Ryan scrubbed the tires. Anyway...not only does he love to ride it, but he always want to have it by him. Last night at dinner, he parked his bike right next to his chair. He forgot it was there, and he fell over it as he got off of his chair (we have bar height chairs) to go and get more milk. His face hit his bike. Here is the end result:

He cut his left eye lid and also scraped his left cheek.

There were some tears, but he ended feeling fine later on. He ate all of his dinner, too. He told Ryan that ice cream would help make his eye feel better. What a goof:

No, they didn't eat all of that ice cream :)
